Welcome to UMDate. By creating an account or using UMDate, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. Eligibility
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- You must be a current University of Manitoba student with a valid @myumanitoba.ca email.
- You must provide accurate information about yourself.
2. Your account
You're responsible for activity on your account. Don't share your sign-in access, impersonate anyone, or create accounts for other people.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, bully, or abuse other users;
- post nudity, sexually explicit, hateful, or illegal content;
- create fake or misleading profiles, or solicit money;
- spam, scrape, or attempt to break or misuse the service;
- share other people's private information without consent.
We may remove content and suspend or ban accounts that break these rules.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and text you post. By posting, you give UMDate a limited licence to store and display that content to other users for the purpose of running the service.
5. Safety
UMDate does not conduct criminal background checks on users. You are solely responsible for your interactions. Always meet in public, tell a friend, and trust your instincts — see our Safety page.
6. No affiliation
UMDate is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the University of Manitoba. “University of Manitoba” and related marks belong to their respective owner.
7. Termination
You can stop using UMDate and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or to protect the community.
8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
UMDate is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, UMDate is not liable for damages arising from your use of the service or your interactions with other users.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the applicable laws of Canada.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use of UMDate means you accept the changes.
